Would you like to play a part in an enduring local success story?
Local charity, The Box Moor Trust, is looking for residents to stand for election as Trustees. The Box Moor Trust has been caring for land held in trust for the community since 1594. The skills and backgrounds of its Trustees have evolved over time and the breadth of its work has developed with the changing patterns of farming, education and recreation.
On 21st October the Trust will be holding an election for at least four new Trustees. Trustees are people who care passionately about Hemel Hempstead and Bovingdon and who recognise the vital contribution that the local landscape makes to the community's quality of life. The role of Trustee is interesting and rewarding, and one in which your knowledge and skills can help make a really positive contribution.
To stand for election as Trustee you must be over 18 and live in the Hemel Hempstead or Bovingdon area. The Trust positively welcomes people from diverse backgrounds and with disabilities, and is especially interested in hearing from individuals with experience in legal services, nature conservation, property surveying and development, farming, planning or income generation.
As a Trustee you would be involved in work for the Trust on around 8-15 days a year. You would be responsible for planning the future work and direction of the charity. Trustees are not paid, but you can reclaim your expenses.
If you would like to consider standing for election we will send you an application pack, which you should return by 9th September.
