Deputy Estate Manager
Reporting to:
Estate Manager
Location:  London Rd, Hemel Hempstead, Herts, HP1 2RE
Hours:  35 hours per week, normally 08.00 – 16.00. Weekend working of 1 in 4 on a rota basis for which overtime will be paid.  Occasional early/late shifts will be required to cover other staff absence and seasonal workloads.
Salary:  £24,000 to £26,000 pa.
Probationary period: 6 months

The Trust’s lands are managed by a small Estate Team with the help of many volunteers. Our rare breed cattle and sheep help us to maintain a range of special habitats. Following a review of current workloads, the Board has decided to add a key new Estate officer to its team. This is an exciting post where you will have a real opportunity to make a difference. It will support a continuing drive to manage the land effectively for a growing community whilst also protecting and even increasing its range of wildlife. The overriding emphasis is to protect these special places for future generations. If you have a wide knowledge of flora and fauna and its appropriate habitat requirements and your passion is to pass your knowledge onto others and to encourage them to respect and protect special open spaces, then this could be the position for you.

Administration Manager
Reporting to:
The Trust Board
Location: Box Moor Trust Centre, London Rd, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 2RE
Hours: Part time 26 hours per week – start time 8 a.m – 4 days a week
Salary: £25,000-£28,000 (pro rata – £18,570 -£20,800)
Probation Period: 6 Months

Our long serving Administration and Finance Manager is reducing hours to part time and will relinquish the administration function to concentrate on financial administration and accounts. As a result, we are looking for a skilled professional to manage a team of 3 involved with Trust administration, lettings of quality meeting rooms, publicity, events and partnerships. Working closely with two other Trust Teams dealing with Estate and Education, you will be a key contributor to the ongoing success of the charity. This is a key role supporting the Trust Board and has the advantage that, for at least 2 years, the existing manager will be available to gradually introduce you to the intricacies of the charity. The post holder will be a crucial part of a team that has our Community at its heart and will suit an outgoing person who enjoys being part of a really unique organization.

Partnerships, Events and Profile Officer
Reporting to
: Administration Manager
Location: Box Moor Trust Centre, London Rd Hemel Hempstead, HP1 2RE
Hours: Part time 15 Hrs
Salary: £21,000 (pro rata £9,000)
Term Initially an 18 month project – to be reviewed after 15 months.

The Charity is managed by a small team and, following a review of current workloads in connection with Trust aims, has decided to add a key project officer to its team. This is an interesting post that will offer a range of duties reaching out to the community. We are looking for an enthusiastic, communicative and determined officer to improve Trust profile, manage occasional events, seek sponsorships and partners, network with other charities and organisations and market our excellent suite of meeting rooms. There will be also be an opportunity to work with local charities to seek ways to utilise the Trust Centre for community benefit in off peak periods. This is a post where you can show initiative and take the Trust forward. For anyone hoping for a career in this field, it is an opportunity to gain much experience. You will work with a team who are dedicated to making life better in our community. Over the next 15 months a lot will be happening at the Trust and we will be better able to decide whether this post will become permanent or not.

Seasonal Ranger
Reporting to:
Deputy Estate Manager
Location: London Road, Hemel Hempstead, Herts, HP1 2RE
Hours: Negotiable up to 35 hours per week (April to September) to cover peak workloads, with some weekend working 3 out of 4 weeks per month.  Overall hours in that period not to exceed 780 (thus averaging 30 hours per week).  A flexible approach will be required to cover staff absence, seasonal workloads and activities on the estate.  Casual winter work may also be available according to workload.
Pay: £8.33 per hour
Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)

As a Seasonal Ranger you will have an important task in assisting the team with the maintenance and tidiness of busy community areas on our land such as Blackbirds Moor and Roughdown Common. These are areas that suffer in particular from litter and if you are the sort of person who can diplomatically work with local visitors to encourage respect for the area and you have an enthusiasm to keep these special places appropriately maintained then this could be a position for you.
