Informal Learning

There are plenty of opportunities for informal lifelong learning on the Trust Land.

Copies of our Orange, Green, Red and Blue Walks are available from this website and from the Box Moor Trust Centre. These provide information on the points of interest around these routes.

Families and Children

‘I-Spy’ Sheets: Seasonal sheets for children to use on the Orange Walk route are available online and at the Old Barn Education Centre.

Summer Family Activity Walks: Themed circular walks, starting and finishing at the car park by the Old Barn Education Centre. These take families through Hay Wood and its surrounding meadows, with suggested activities at points along the way. Copies are available online and at the Box Moor Trust Centre.

Bovingdon Brickworks Activity Walk: A walk highlighting aspects of the site’s natural history and past uses. Copies are available online.

Rucksack Activities: Rucksacks containing equipment for outdoor family activities, including ‘Land Art’ and ‘Senses’. These can be borrowed from the Box Moor Trust Centre for a small deposit.

Activity days and sessions for families are held during the school holidays, with seasonal crafts and outdoor activities suitable for children up to 11 years. Children’s activities are also available at Trust events, including the Autumn Conker Festival and Lambing Weekend.
