Manifesto if elected:
I have run my own business as well as working for large corporations and smaller businesses. This broad range of business types has given me a flexible view of business practice, as well as a wide perspective on pressures at different levels.
I am primarily a communicator. Broadcasting complicated issues and actions is always a challenge. What is sometimes needed is experience in simplifying and identifying the best way to convey information to the broad base that the Trust serves.
As a school governor, I have developed a rapport across political viewpoints to find effective processes to support both pupils and staff – particularly in safeguarding – which has served in good stead when writing and integrating a complete child protection policy document for Boxmoor Playhouse with DBS checks and forming a functioning relationship with Community Action Dacorum.
I would like to bring a different perspective to the Trust, improving awareness and its presence in Hemel Hempstead. Through my contacts with local groups concerned with the increase in housing development in Dacorum, I would like to ensure that the natural environment that is managed by the Trust is a useful source of education and a public voice of environmental sustainability and responsibility in the area.
More than ever, the Trust stands for the idea that we are only holding the world in trust for future generations. A philosophy that guides the core of my wish to serve the Trust, community and the environment they encompass.
