Steve Wilson
Biography
Elected as Trustee: October 2020
"Born in London, but a resident of Hemel Hempstead since 1954, I attended Hobbs Hill and Apsley Grammar Schools before obtaining a B.Sc in Geography with Geology at Reading University and later a MA in Education at London University. I am a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Following some experience teaching in Higher Education, I taught for 13 years at Astley Cooper School and 19 years at Great Baddow High School, Chelmsford, where I was Head of Humanities and Senior Teacher with responsibilities for staff training.
I have had a long association with Leverstock Green Cricket Club, at which I was Chairman from 2000 to 2014. Retiring from teaching has allowed me to take up my current roles as Vice Chair of Dacorum Environmental Forum, Secretary of Friends of Gadebridge Park and committee member of the Friends of Halsey Field (Local Wildlife Site).
I am familiar and confident working on environmental projects with planners, local politicians and other stakeholders. I have particular experience in River Basin and Water Resource Management."
