Manifesto
As a long-standing resident of Boxmoor and avid user of the Box Moor Trust’s invaluable green spaces, I am genuinely committed to ensuring our natural heritage thrives for generations to come. My career in financial services has equipped me with robust strategic, financial, and operational leadership skills directly relevant to the Trustee role.
At Nationwide, I have consistently driven significant profit and deposit growth, including generating £35m net margin profit and overseeing £4 billion in business deposits. This experience in financial strategy and responsible resource management is crucial for maximising income from the Trust’s existing assets and ensuring its long-term financial sustainability. I have a proven track record in risk reduction and adapting processes to changing regulations, which will be vital for strong charity governance and compliance.
Furthermore, my leadership in optimising operations, enhancing efficiency, and improving quality assurance means I can contribute to streamlining the Trust’s internal processes. I am adept at negotiating with diverse stakeholders and fostering collaborative relationships. I would hope to use my experience in business development to actively explore and help diversify the Trust’s income streams, complementing its traditional revenue sources to ensure even greater resilience.
My personal pursuits, such as my Private Pilot and Day Skipper Licences, have further honed my analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities in high-pressure environments. I am eager to apply my strategic thinking and financial acumen to support the Box Moor Trust in its vital work, from environmental conservation and education to providing cherished recreational spaces for our community.
